Starting Monday, August 24, 2026, drivers in Brazil can check their free-flow toll passages and payment instructions through the CNH do Brasil app, according to G1. The update brings toll information directly into the national driver's license digital platform, which is managed by the federal government.

The new feature allows motorists to view their trips through free-flow toll gantries and see how to settle any outstanding charges. Free-flow tolling, which uses electronic gantries instead of traditional booths, requires drivers to pay separately after passing, often through apps or bank channels. G1 reports that the tool is now live in the app, and other outlets, including CNN Brasil and O Povo, confirmed the rollout on the same date.

According to JC, a Brazilian news outlet, the system covers most of the country but excludes the state of Pernambuco. That means drivers who pass through free-flow toll points in Pernambuco will not see those passages in the app, even though the feature is available elsewhere. The federal government's official portal also announced the consultation tool, noting it would be accessible in the CNH do Brasil app starting Monday.

The move is part of a broader push to simplify toll payments and reduce fines for missed charges. Previously, drivers had to use separate systems or toll operators' websites to track their passages. Now, the CNH app serves as a central hub for license-related services and toll data.

What to watch next: whether the app will expand to include Pernambuco and whether it will add direct payment processing, rather than just payment instructions, in future updates.
