Beijing is set for moderate rain and a marked drop in temperature, with daytime highs expected to reach 23°C, according to 京报网. The cooler, wetter conditions mark a clear shift toward autumn weather in the capital.
The rain coincides with a 4/9 traffic restriction day, and reporting from 凤凰网 notes that the combination of rainfall and restrictions is expected to create heavy traffic pressure on the last working day before the Mid-Autumn Festival. Drivers were advised to expect difficult conditions on the roads.
中华网 reported that the rain would bring cooler air along with it, describing the shift as autumn rain adding a chill. Cloud cover has also been building over Beijing in recent days, and finance.sina.cn reported that light rain is expected during the Mid-Autumn holiday period.
Separately, 搜狐网 reported that traffic pressure would be high during Friday evening rush hour and on Sunday, an unrestricted working day. Together, the reports point to a stretch of unsettled weather and busy roads as the holiday approaches.
Residents should watch for further updates on rainfall timing and traffic conditions as the holiday period begins.
