BBC Sport has opened an interactive player-rating feature for the Champions League fixture between Atlético Madrid and Bayern Munich, according to the BBC. Visitors to the broadcaster's coverage can score the players out of 10 for their performances in the game.
The rating window is time-limited. According to BBC, submissions close 30 minutes after the final whistle, and users must be signed in to a BBC account to take part.
Once the opportunity to rate players has ended, the BBC states that the score shown on the page will be the average drawn from all submissions made by BBC Sport users.
Why it matters
The fixture pairs two of European football's most established clubs, and BBC's ratings tool turns the match into a two-way exercise: reporting on the result and inviting the audience to judge individual performances. Because the published score is an aggregate of user votes rather than a single editorial verdict, the feature gives a direct read on how supporters viewed each player's contribution.
The 30-minute cut-off is also significant for anyone intending to participate. Ratings submitted after that point will not count, and the final averages will reflect only those entries lodged inside the window.
How the ratings work and where to find coverage
BBC's instructions are straightforward. Users sign in to a BBC account, assign each player a mark out of 10, and wait for the window to close. The average that appears afterwards is compiled from every rating submitted by BBC Sport users, per the broadcaster.
Separately, BBC has set out its viewing plans for the round. Highlights of every Champions League game will be available from 22:00 on Wednesday on BBC iPlayer and on the BBC Sport website and app, according to the BBC.
The broadcaster also confirmed a Champions League Match of the Day on BBC One on Wednesday, running from 22:40 to 00:00, the BBC reports.
What to watch
For supporters of either club, the practical takeaway is the timing: ratings must be in within half an hour of the final whistle, and the highlights programme and on-demand clips follow on Wednesday night.
