The Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani film Awarapan 2 has crossed the Rs 150-crore mark in global box office collections, according to Telegraph India. The sequel has also extended its lead over the competing release Batwara 1947 in the ongoing box office race.

Telegraph India reports that the film’s worldwide earnings surpassed Rs 150 crore, while The Times of India notes that the movie has also crossed Rs 110 crore in net collections within India. The film achieved this milestone by its seventh day in theaters, as detailed in multiple reports.

Industry tracking from IMDb places Awarapan 2 as the third-highest opening week of 2026 so far, with the film claiming that spot without relying on a Thursday release. The movie’s performance has also drawn comment from director Kunal Deshmukh, who helmed Hashmi’s earlier hit Jannat. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Deshmukh said that those close to the actor felt success of this kind was always likely.

The film’s box office run has also boosted Patani’s record. According to zoomtventertainment.com, the actress has now achieved a 50 per cent success rate in films released after the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically in projects where she appears opposite Hashmi.

The widening gap between Awarapan 2 and Batwara 1947 suggests the sequel is sustaining audience interest beyond its opening weekend. With the film already among the year’s top performers, the next milestone to watch is whether it can sustain momentum into its second week and challenge the top two opening-week records of 2026.
