Arsenal are working to complete moves for Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes and Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior, according to TNT Sports. The club is reportedly making progress on both fronts as the summer transfer window continues.
TNT Sports reports that Arsenal are pushing to secure agreements for both players. Multiple outlets, including Sky Sports and beIN SPORTS, have indicated that a deal for Guimaraes is close. Sky Sports states that Arsenal have agreed to pay £75 million for the Newcastle captain, while beIN SPORTS puts the fee at €87 million. The Athletic, via The New York Times, also reports that Newcastle are prepared to sanction the sale.
BBC reports that Arsenal are signing Guimaraes, who currently serves as Newcastle's captain. The Brazilian midfielder has been a key figure at St James' Park since joining the club, and his potential departure would mark a significant change for Newcastle's squad.
The reported fee of £75 million would make Guimaraes one of the more expensive midfield transfers in Premier League history. Newcastle appear willing to accept the offer, according to The Athletic, which suggests the deal could be finalized soon.
Arsenal's interest in Vinicius Junior adds another layer to their transfer activity. The Brazilian winger has been a standout performer for Real Madrid, and any move would represent a major statement from the north London club. However, details on the potential Vinicius transfer remain limited in the available reporting.
The combination of both pursuits signals Arsenal's intent to strengthen their squad significantly ahead of the new season. Guimaraes would add steel and creativity in midfield, while Vinicius would bring pace and goal threat on the wing.
What to watch next: Whether Arsenal can finalize the Guimaraes deal in the coming days and how Real Madrid respond to their interest in Vinicius.
