Egyptian singer Amr Diab has received a new Guinness World Records title tied to his run on the Billboard Arabia charts, the Saudi newspaper Okaz reported on Thursday. According to Okaz, Diab's time at the top of the chart has now reached 69 consecutive weeks.
The recognition was also reported by the pan-Arab outlet Al Arabiya, which said Diab entered the Guinness records book again and quoted him as saying that what matters most to him is the audience's satisfaction. The London-based Arabic daily Asharq Al-Awsat reported that Guinness highlighted his achievement on the Billboard Arabia listings.
The milestone drew congratulations from fellow Egyptian singer Rami Sabry, who said in remarks carried by Akhbar Al-Youm that Diab continues to entertain audiences and that people take pride in him. Coverage of the record also looked back at Diab's long career, with Youm7 tracing his chart presence across more than four decades, from early hits to more recent releases.
The reports did not specify further details of the Guinness entry, such as the exact category wording or a presentation date.

Diab is one of the most established figures in Arabic pop music, and the Billboard Arabia charts serve as a regional measure of streaming and sales performance. A streak of this length places him at the center of the region's current chart conversation.
Watch for Billboard Arabia's upcoming weekly chart updates to see whether the run continues, and for any further statement from Diab or Guinness on the record.
