Al-Ahli has officially appointed Croatian coach Marino Bosic as their new head coach, according to multiple Saudi media reports. The club announced the signing on Thursday, with Bosic arriving in Jeddah to take up the role.
Bosic joins Al-Ahli from Liverpool, where he served as an assistant coach. Saudi outlet صحيفة الرياضية reports that he arrived in Jeddah with five assistant coaches, and that Pedro was among the first to welcome him. The club's announcement was also confirmed by صحيفة سبق الإلكترونية.
The appointment fills the vacancy left by Matthias Jaissle, who previously led the team. According to Arabic-language outlet العربية, Al-Ahli brought in Bosic as a replacement for the German coach. The move marks a return to Saudi Arabia for Bosic, who has prior experience in the region.
Negotiations had earlier been reported with French coach Didier Deschamps, but those talks stalled. Kooora reported that behind-the-scenes complications caused the Deschamps deal to fall through, paving the way for Bosic's appointment.

Bosic's arrival signals Al-Ahli's intent to build on their squad with a coach familiar with top-level European football. His work under Liverpool's staff gives him experience at a club known for high-intensity play and tactical organisation.
The Croatian coach will now prepare the team for the upcoming season in the Saudi Pro League. Fans will be watching to see how quickly he can implement his methods and whether his Liverpool background translates to success in Jeddah.
