Ajax visited Sparta Rotterdam in the Eredivisie on Sunday with Tolu and Ouazane named in the starting lineup, according to De Telegraaf. The Amsterdam club fielded an entirely new attacking line for the match, Het Parool reported, and Daley Blind was back in the squad.
Sparta's Jens Toornstra was the occasion's notable figure, with De Telegraaf describing the midfielder as a jubilaris — a player marking a milestone appearance. The outlet did not specify the number in its headline summary.
De Telegraaf reported that Ajax created the first chances of the game during a sloppy opening phase. The visitors went into the fixture hoping to take advantage of dropped points by PSV and Feyenoord earlier in the Eredivisie round, according to NU and Voetbal International.
De Telegraaf's coverage was published as a live blog, so the starting lineups and early match details reflect the situation at the time of posting. The reports did not include a final score or further details of the milestone.
What to watch next: the result at Het Kasteel and whether Ajax can close the gap on the teams above them.
