Airtel Money has introduced a new digital wallet called Bizna Wallet aimed at small businesses in Kenya, according to Citizen Digital. The service is designed to help traders keep their business funds separate from personal money, a common challenge for many micro-entrepreneurs.

The launch was reported on Monday, August 3, 2026, by Citizen Digital. Bizna Wallet is part of Airtel Money's broader push to deepen its support for small and informal businesses, which form a significant part of Kenya's economy.

Citizen Digital reports that the new wallet allows small business owners to manage their daily transactions more efficiently. By separating business and personal finances, traders can better track income, expenses, and profits without mixing funds in a single account.

The move comes amid growing competition in Kenya's mobile money sector. Business Daily has noted that Airtel and Safaricom are now locked in a price war over business wallet services. Safaricom, the market leader, already offers similar tools, and Airtel's new product appears to be a direct response to that competition.

Other Kenyan outlets, including The Kenyan Wallstreet and Capital FM, have also covered the launch, highlighting the tool's focus on small traders. Additionally, KBC Digital has reported that Airtel is preparing to roll out an overdraft service, which would rival Safaricom's popular Fuliza product. That overdraft feature could eventually be linked to Bizna Wallet, giving small businesses access to short-term credit.

For now, Bizna Wallet gives Airtel Money a stronger foothold in the small business segment. The next development to watch is whether the promised overdraft service will be integrated into the wallet, and how Safaricom responds to the growing price competition.
