Spanish construction group ACS has once again claimed the top spot in the global ranking of contractors by international revenue, according to multiple Spanish business outlets. The company has now led the list eight times in the past ten years, as reported by Cinco Días.

The latest figures, drawn from the Engineering News-Record (ENR) ranking, show ACS ahead of its global competitors, with its German subsidiary Hochtief also featuring prominently among the world's largest contractors, according to OkDiario. Expansión attributes ACS's sustained international leadership largely to its strong position in the United States market, which has helped the group challenge the growing influence of Chinese construction firms abroad.

The ENR list, which tracks the 250 most international construction and engineering companies worldwide, includes eleven Spanish firms in total, according to Forbes España. ACS's dominance, however, stands out as the group has consistently outperformed rivals on the global stage over the past decade.

El Español reports that ACS's success outside Spain stems from a deliberate strategy of geographic diversification, with the US serving as a key revenue driver. The company's ability to secure large-scale infrastructure projects in mature markets has allowed it to maintain its edge even as Chinese competitors expand aggressively into international territories.

Industry observers will be watching whether ACS can extend its run atop the ranking next year, particularly as global infrastructure spending patterns shift and competition from Chinese state-backed contractors intensifies. The company's continued reliance on the US market will likely remain a central factor in its ability to hold off challengers.
