U2 will return to the road in 2027 with a new world tour, the band announced. The trek, billed as Carnaval De Luz presents: The Greatest Show On Earth, will take Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. to selected stadiums starting next year and continuing beyond, according to All Access.
The tour opens in Mexico City on Feb. 23, 2027, with Beck appearing as a special guest. São Paulo and Buenos Aires are also on the schedule, and those three cities are the only Latin American stops the tour will make in 2027, All Access reports.
The outing supports Carnaval De Luz, which the band has described as its 16th studio album.
In a statement carried in the announcement, the band framed the tour's title as a deliberate provocation rather than a boast. The members said the name is a challenge they are setting for themselves as much as for anyone else: the goal of giving someone the best night of their life. They described the show as part shaman, part showman, built on an explosion of color, unrestrained guitar, bass and drums, and songs audiences can hold on to.
Why it matters
The announcement ends a stretch without a U2 tour and pairs a new album with a stadium run that begins in Latin America rather than the band's usual markets. It also puts U2 into an already crowded 2027 concert calendar in Argentina, where Foo Fighters, Placebo, Kasabian, RUSH, Louis Tomlinson, Hillary Duff and Slipknot are among the acts with confirmed dates, alongside Lollapalooza Argentina on March 12, 13 and 14 at the Hipódromo de San Isidro.
For Buenos Aires, the shows mark another entry in a long line of major international bookings handled by DF Entertainment, the Argentine live entertainment company behind the dates. DF was founded by Diego Finkelstein, who has more than two decades in the industry, and in recent years the company has staged Taylor Swift's first visit to Argentina, ten sold-out Coldplay shows at River, Tan Biónica's farewell run across three stadiums, and eleven editions of Lollapalooza Argentina. The 2026 edition of that festival featured headliners including Sabrina Carpenter, Tyler, The Creator, Chappell Roan, Deftones, Skrillex, Lorde, Doechii, Turnstile, Lewis Capaldi and Paulo Londra among more than 100 artists.
DF's recent resume also includes shows by Paul McCartney, Oasis, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Lenny Kravitz, Dua Lipa, Rosalía, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar, Twenty One Pilots, Maroon 5, Afterlife, C. Tangana, Guns & Roses, Kiss, Metallica, Imagine Dragons, Jonas Brothers, Niall Horan, David Bisbal, Stray Kids, Jamiroquai and BTS, as well as the first 360° show at Estadio River Plate, a two-night engagement by Maria Becerra in December 2025. Its management division represents Argentine acts including CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, Usted Señalemelo and Zecca. Live Nation Entertainment acquired 51 percent of the company in 2018.
Presale opens to U2.com subscribers first
Tickets will reach U2.com subscribers before the general public through a presale split into two priority tiers, according to the announcement. The Feedback group, made up of the longest-standing subscribers, gets access first, beginning Monday, Oct. 19. The Hype group, for those who became paying subscribers or renewed a previously lapsed account after the cutoff date, enters on the second day, Tuesday, Oct. 20.
Both windows run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, with times listed as 10 a.m. CDMX, 8 p.m. BRT and 8 p.m. ART. Feedback status applies to subscribers who were active and paid up as of 5 p.m. CDMX, 8 p.m. BRT and 8 p.m. ART on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, and who have kept their subscription active without interruption since. Presale access codes for that group carry the prefix U2GSA; codes for the Hype group carry the prefix U2GSB.
Subscribers can check which group they belong to on the account information page after signing in at U2.com. The email containing each subscriber's unique access code also identifies the priority group. The band's announcement states that a subscriber's group cannot be changed and that no exceptions will be made.
Paid-up U2.com subscribers may buy up to four tickets for any concert in Latin America. The announcement says all purchase codes are audited and that anyone who misuses presale privileges risks having their ticket purchases and their U2.com subscription cancelled.
Presale access does not guarantee tickets, the announcement notes. Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Subscribers who sign up after a presale has begun are placed in the Hype group and receive their own code.
Purchase links will be posted on the tour page at U2.com and sent by email to current subscribers in good standing before the presales open. Buyers are advised to use the link for their chosen concert to enter a waiting room 30 minutes before the presale starts; when it opens, they are redirected to the ticketing company's presale page to enter their unique access code.
What to watch
Ticket details for the Mexico City, São Paulo and Buenos Aires dates will surface through the U2.com presale windows, with the general on-sale and any additional 2027 cities still to be confirmed.
