INTRODUCTION
There is a prophet in this story. His name is Habakkuk. He is not a king. He is not a priest. He is a man with a burden — a man who has been crying out to God and getting no answer. He has been watching violence, iniquity, and trouble, and he has been asking, 'How long, O Lord?'
But then something shifts. He stops complaining and starts positioning himself. He says, 'I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me.'
THIS IS YOU. You have been crying out. You have been asking God, 'When? How long? Why?' And the Holy Ghost is saying to you today: stop talking and start watching. Position yourself to hear what God will say.
YOUR SET TIME HAS COME.
The vision is about to speak.
VERSE 1 — 'I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.' (KJV)
Stop right there. Did you see that word?
WATCH.
Habakkuk did not say, 'I will sit and sulk.' He did not say, 'I will wait and worry.' He said, 'I will stand upon my watch.' He positioned himself. He separated himself. He got to a place of observation and expectation.
Many of you have been praying, but you have not been watching. You have been asking, but you have not been expecting. You have been crying, but you have not been looking.
But I prophesy to you today: God is calling you to a new posture. He is calling you to stand — not to fall, not to faint, not to flee — but to stand upon your watch. To set yourself upon the tower of prayer, the tower of the Word, the tower of faith. And to watch what He will say concerning you.
YOUR WATCHING SEASON HAS BEGUN.
VERSE 2 — 'And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.' (KJV)
Stop right there. Did you see that word?
WRITE.
God did not say, 'Think about the vision.' He did not say, 'Talk about the vision.' He said, 'WRITE the vision.' There is something about writing it down. When you write it, you are making a record. You are establishing a testimony. You are putting it on record that God has spoken.
And He said, 'Make it plain upon tables.' In other words, make it clear. Make it visible. Make it undeniable. So that anyone who reads it can run with it.
What has God spoken to you? What has He promised? What has He shown you in the secret place? Write it down. Make it plain. Because the vision is not for your eyes only — it is for your feet. It is not just to be seen; it is to be run with.
YOUR VISION SHALL BE MADE PLAIN.
VERSE 3 — 'For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.' (KJV)
Stop right there. Did you see that word?
APPOINTED TIME.
The vision has an appointed time. It has a set time. It has a due date. It is not random. It is not accidental. It is scheduled by God Himself. And at the end — at the set time — it shall speak. It shall not lie. It shall not fail. It shall not disappoint.
But here is the test: 'Though it tarry, wait for it.' The tarrying is not denial. The delay is not denial. The waiting is not wasted. It is the process that prepares you for the promise.
Many of you have been waiting. You have been believing. You have been standing. And the enemy has whispered, 'It will never happen.' But I am sent to tell you today: the vision is not dead. It is not delayed. It is not denied. It is simply not yet the appointed time. But when the appointed time comes, it will speak. And it will not lie.
YOUR APPOINTED TIME HAS ARRIVED.
VERSE 4 — 'Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.' (KJV)
Stop right there. Did you see that word?
FAITH.
The vision is not obtained by pride. It is not obtained by self-effort. It is not obtained by human strength. The soul that is lifted up — the one who trusts in himself, who boasts in his own ability — is not upright. But the just — the righteous, the one who has been made right with God — shall live by his faith.
Faith is the currency of the Kingdom. Faith is the hand that receives the promise. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).
And I declare to you today: your faith is not in vain. Your faith is not empty. Your faith is not wasted. The just shall live by faith — and you are the just. You have been justified by the blood of the Lamb. You have been made righteous in Christ. And your faith shall speak for you.
YOUR FAITH SHALL SPEAK.
The vision is not for the proud. It is not for the self-sufficient. It is for the just — for those who live by faith. And that is you.
