Spanish technology brand SPC used its fifth annual Seniors' Week to bring back the party game "Never Have I Ever" as a way of getting grandparents and grandchildren talking, according to EntreMayores. The campaign ran from 28 September to 4 October 2026, timed to the International Day of Older Persons, under the slogan "The conversations we never had."
The company also used the occasion to unveil the SPC POLARIS PURE, a new 4G phone built for older users, on 1 October. The device joins SPC CARE, the company's remote care platform.
Why it matters
SPC has run its Seniors' Week since 2022, and EntreMayores reports that the initiative is intended to encourage older people to adopt digital tools, promote sensible use of technology and narrow the digital divide.
The 2026 edition approached that goal from an unusual angle. Rather than leading with hardware, SPC built the campaign around a simple prompt for conversation. EntreMayores reports the company created a webpage with product offers and a downloadable version of the game, including a list of starter questions meant to help different generations learn things about each other they may never have discussed.
Teresa Acha-Orbea, SPC's general director, said the idea was to keep discovering the older people in our lives even when we assume we already know everything about them, according to EntreMayores. She added that behind every parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle is a person with experiences, dreams, decisions and memories that do not always come up in everyday conversation.
What the campaign included
EntreMayores reports that SPC selected a set of devices for the week aimed at supporting older users' daily routines, with discounts of up to 20 percent. The lineup included smartphones with remote setup and remote assistance features, such as the SPC ZEUS 2 PRO and ZEUS 2 ELITE, along with smartwatches offering calls and GPS, such as the SPC SMARTEE 4G SENIOR, and the SPC JETTY LITE radio.
The game did not end with the campaign window. EntreMayores reports SPC will keep including "Never Have I Ever" questions with all online purchases of its senior devices. Customers can send in a family video sharing their experience with SPC products until 31 December, entering a draw for 300 euros to spend on the company's website during 2027.
Acha-Orbea framed the technology itself as part of the intergenerational relationship, noting that a video call, a message or a device suited to older people's needs all help families stay in contact, according to EntreMayores.
SPC's earlier Seniors' Week themes have shifted year to year. EntreMayores reports that after the first edition, the company ran a campaign in 2023 built around the idea of "seenagers," a blend of senior and teenager, and last year's edition cast older people as everyday superheroes whose accumulated experience, combined with technology, can support healthy ageing.
Inside the POLARIS PURE
The POLARIS PURE, presented on 1 October after a countdown on SPC's website, is a deliberately stripped-back handset. EntreMayores reports it is a 4G phone in a bar format, without a touchscreen or internet connection. It has a physical keypad with large buttons, a simple menu and a charging base so the phone can stay visible and ready to use. It also includes an FM radio, an easily reached flashlight, hearing aid compatibility and a hands-free option.
Despite that simplicity, the phone works with SPC CARE, SPC's remote care application, which lets relatives or trusted contacts manage the device from elsewhere. EntreMayores reports the platform supports both Android and iOS. Once installed, the app allows real-time location checks and remote adjustment of many phone settings, including volume, screen brightness, text size and the contact list. Family members can also block spam or potentially fraudulent numbers remotely by adding them to a blacklist.
The POLARIS PURE also carries GPS and an SOS button. EntreMayores reports that a long press triggers an emergency call and an SMS to configured contacts so they receive the older person's location.
What to watch
The family video draw stays open until 31 December 2026, with the 300-euro website credit valid through 2027 — a window that will show whether SPC's conversation-first approach translates into lasting engagement with its senior-focused devices.
