A concert of classic revolutionary songs titled "Years of Glory" (《岁月峥嵘》) was held at the Shijiazhuang Grand Theatre on October 18, according to 搜狐. The performance marked the 90th anniversary of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army's victory in the Long March.

搜狐 reports that the programme featured more than 20 well-known red songs, including "Ten Farewells to the Red Army," "Red Flowers Blooming on Shandan Dan" and "My Motherland and I." The music was arranged across four sections — "Spark over Jinggang," "Ten Thousand Li Campaign," "Beacon Fire at Yan'an" and "Everlasting Mountains and Rivers, Glorious Era" — which together traced the Long March's history.

The concert was produced by the China Oriental Performing Arts Group, with renowned music producer Hong Bing as music director and Xing Chunming and Li Yuhui as directors, 搜狐 reports. Performers included first-class actors and young singers such as Fan Xiaoxia, Jing Yan and Wei Jinying, who appeared in solo, duet and choral pieces. Organisers described the event as an immersive red-themed concert built around themes of youth, faith and the journey, using familiar melodies to revisit the revolutionary period and pass on its spirit.

The Shijiazhuang concert was one of several Long March commemorative music events reported around the same period, alongside performances covered by 新华网, 凤凰网 and 人民网 in Jiangxi, Ganzhou and Guizhou.

Watch for further anniversary concerts and touring productions as commemorations of the Long March's 90th anniversary continue.
