NOT “SICKABLE
(Walk In Divine Health)
Friday, 2 October
TO THE BIBLE 3 John 1:2
“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”
The headache started mid-morning.
Kemi pressed her fingers against her temples as she sat in the library, trying to finish the project that had been leaked the day before. The group chat had quieted a little, but the damage was done. A few people still whispered when she walked past. The pressure to prove herself was loud enough without her body joining the argument.
Tobi slid into the seat across from her during the free period and dropped a water bottle on the table.
“You look like you’re about to pass out,” he said. “You’ve been tense since yesterday. Maybe you’re coming down with something.”
Kemi almost agreed. The words “I think I’m getting sick” were already forming. Then she stopped.
The verse from that morning was still fresh. God didn’t say He wanted her healed after she got sick. He said He wanted her *in health*. Not recovering. Not managing symptoms. In health. The new creation life wasn’t designed to keep cycling through sickness and healing. Old things including sickness had passed away.
She sat up straighter.
“I’m not coming down with anything,” she said. “And I’m not going to start agreeing with it just because I feel pressure in my head.”
Tobi raised an eyebrow. “You’re allowed to feel bad, you know.”
“Feeling isn’t the same as confessing,” Kemi answered. “Symptoms aren’t proof that I’m sick. We live by faith, not by what the body is trying to report. The Bible says the inhabitants of Zion don’t even say ‘I am sick’—not because they’re pretending, but because the life in them doesn’t host sickness. I’m part of that city. Eternal life is in me. That means I’m not ‘sickable.’”
She opened her notebook again and kept working. The dull pressure in her head didn’t vanish instantly, but she refused to give it language. Every time the thought tried to settle maybe I should just rest, maybe I’m run down she replaced it.
I prosper in all things and I am in health.
Sickness has no place in me.
The life of God destroys disease.
By the end of the free period the tightness had eased. Not because she had ignored her body, but because she had refused to let feelings write the story.
As they packed up, Tobi glanced at her.
“You’re really going to keep talking like that even when it feels otherwise?”
Kemi zipped her bag. “Especially then. Walking in divine health is my birthright. I’m not waiting until I’m older to use it. And I’m definitely not letting a leaked draft and a group chat decide how my body functions.”
The project was still due tomorrow. The online comments hadn’t all disappeared. But something stronger was settling into place:
She would not partner with sickness talk.
She would not magnify symptoms.
She would walk in the health that was already hers.

ACT
Today, erase “sickness talk” from your mouth. If any symptom or negative feeling shows up, refuse to agree with it. Declare instead: “I am in health. The life of God in me destroys every form of sickness and disease.”
