Students in Rukungiri have elected new leaders to represent them under the Uganda National Students Association (UNSA), according to Uganda Radionetwork. The vote was reported on Saturday, 10 October 2026.
Uganda Radionetwork did not publish further details of the outcome, so the names of those elected and the positions they will hold have not been confirmed in the report.
UNSA is the national body that speaks for students across Uganda, and its branch elections are the route by which student representatives take office at local level. The Rukungiri exercise is one of the association's local polls, though the reporting available does not set out how the voting was conducted or how many students took part.
Coverage of the election was limited to the announcement that new leaders had been chosen. No vote counts, candidate lists or statements from those elected were included.
What to watch next: whether Uganda Radionetwork or UNSA releases the full results and names of the new Rukungiri leaders.
