Niloy Alamgir and Jannatul Sumaiya Himi have become one of the most recognizable acting pairs in Bangladeshi television drama, according to a report by Ekushey TV. The two performers have worked together for years and have built a dedicated following around a mix of romance, family conflict and comedy delivered in a natural acting style, the outlet reports.

Ekushey TV points to their YouTube numbers as evidence of that popularity: several of their dramas have crossed into the tens of millions of views, and one has passed the 70 million mark.

Why it matters

Longevity as a screen pair is rare in Bangladesh's drama industry, and Ekushey TV frames the Niloy–Himi run as a case study in what sustains one. The outlet argues that star power alone is not enough — consistent output, stories audiences can relate to, and the ability to reach viewers on digital platforms all play a part.

The report also notes a caveat: YouTube view counts are an indicator of interest, not a complete measure of quality or of what every viewer prefers.

A partnership that began in 2016

According to Ekushey TV, the two actors first appeared together in the drama "Jole Vheja Rong" in 2016. Their pairing drew wider attention with "Bondhur Bou," and they went on to appear in titles including "Amra Gorib," "Shongsar Amar Bhallage Na," "Breakup Kono Byapar Na," "Vhuture Prem," "Hobu Ghorjamai" and "Bipode Pore Biye."

Their most discussed success, per the outlet, is "Shoshurbari te Eid," directed by Mohin Khan and released after Eid-ul-Fitr in 2024. Ekushey TV reports that the drama passed 60 million views on YouTube in June 2025, overtaking "Boro Chele," which had held the top spot for eight years. A report published in July 2026 put the view count at roughly 75.2 million, and the number has continued to climb since.

The story follows a son-in-law visiting his in-laws for Eid and the comic situations that follow. Ekushey TV's report describes how the drama uses humor to touch on a father-in-law's stinginess, family tensions and the giving of fitra and zakat. The outlet's analysis credits the combination of a familiar household setting, comedy and a social message for the drama's appeal.

Other titles in the pair's filmography have also drawn large audiences. A report from August 2026, cited by Ekushey TV, put views for "Mamar Bari" at more than 62.5 million, "Shongsar Amar Bhallage Na" at over 57.7 million, "Goriber Borolok Chakor" at more than 52.5 million and "Chacha Bhatija Zindabad" at over 50.9 million.

Chemistry, variety and steady release

Ekushey TV attributes part of the pair's draw to their on-screen chemistry and mutual understanding. Niloy Alamgir is quoted as saying that his rapport with Himi as a co-star, along with the approval of viewers, directors and producers, has been central to keeping the pairing together. Himi, for her part, points to the continuity of their work and the affection of the audience.

The report also highlights variety in their storylines. Some dramas center on romance and marriage, others on in-law relationships, and still others on family misunderstandings and social realities. Presenting these familiar subjects through comedy, according to the outlet, helps viewers connect with the stories easily.

Ekushey TV adds that shared work experience, a regular release schedule and easy availability on digital platforms have helped the pair hold on to their audience. Directors, scriptwriters, production houses and promotion also play a role in the pairing's success, the report notes.

The outlet's broader conclusion is that staying popular as a duo in Bangladesh's drama scene requires quality scripts, believable acting and an understanding of how audience tastes shift over time. The Niloy–Himi run, it argues, shows that sustained work and accessible stories matter as much as fame when it comes to connecting with viewers.

Watch for the next release from the pair and whether their view counts keep climbing past the marks set by "Shoshurbari te Eid."
