Agnieszka Kaczorowska said she took part in a casting for the jury of "Taniec z Gwiazdami" after Edward Miszczak took over as Polsat's programming director, and she argued that the current 19th season is the weakest the show has been dance-wise in recent years. She made the remarks during an appearance with Marcin Rogacewicz on Małgorzata Rozenek's podcast, as reported by Pudelek.pl on Wednesday.
According to Pudelek.pl, Kaczorowska, a former Crystal Globe winner on the show, also said the production treated her poorly when she left more than a year ago. She described the current edition as "weak dance-wise" and questioned the marks handed out by the judging panel.
Why it matters
Kaczorowska is not a casual viewer. She spent years on the "Taniec z Gwiazdami" floor and knows the production from the inside, which gives her criticism more weight than the usual social media commentary. Her claim that she auditioned for the jury — and that Rafał Maserak came out of the same casting process — adds a concrete detail to a story that had until now been the subject of speculation. For Polsat, the remarks land as the broadcaster's flagship entertainment format faces public scrutiny over its standards from a former participant.
A casting she says she attended
Kaczorowska told Rozenek that when Miszczak arrived at Polsat and took charge of the program, a casting was held to select jury members. She said she was among those who took part.
"Rafał entered from the people who were there," she said, referring to Maserak, according to Pudelek.pl's account. The outlet identifies Maserak as a fellow dancer.
She did not elaborate on why she was not chosen, and Pudelek.pl does not report any response from Polsat or from Maserak.
Criticism of the marks and the season
Kaczorowska said she had watched only the first episode of the current season in full, but that was enough for her to compare it with the previous four editions. In her view, this one ranks lowest on dance quality.
She also took aim at the scoring. Seeing a pair receive four tens, she said, should signal something exceptional — and in her view it no longer does. She recalled that over the show's two decades viewers have seen many routines of very high quality, sometimes making it hard to tell who the celebrity was and who the professional. Against that backdrop, she said, the current distribution of top marks does not match her own assessment.
Pudelek.pl reports that Rozenek asked whether Kaczorowska could picture herself as a strict juror. Rogacewicz responded with a joke about whether the country was ready for that, according to the outlet.
Unhappy with how she left
The conversation also covered her departure from the program. Asked whether she had been given a poor send-off, Kaczorowska agreed, Pudelek.pl reports, while stressing that her appetite for dance itself remains unchanged.
She said she can dance anywhere and that she still likes the program, but that for her there is too little dancing in it now. A dance show, in her view, should be built around dance.
Kaczorowska also directed criticism at Polsat's PR staff. She said she wanted to hear from the director, the choreographers and the production crew rather than from publicists who, in her account, invented a story about her and Rogacewicz being isolated on set in order to generate clicks. Pudelek.pl reports her remarks without including any comment from the broadcaster.
Rogacewicz on his exit from "Komisarz Alex"
Toward the end of the interview, Rogacewicz addressed speculation about why he left the series "Komisarz Alex." According to Pudelek.pl, he said the decision was not his: the production ended his involvement after he committed to his own project, a stage performance titled "Siedem," and began dancing.
"Not everyone liked it," he said, as quoted by the outlet.
The pair's joint podcast appearance follows earlier coverage of Kaczorowska's views on the show, including a segment in which she declined to discuss a contestant she was not involved with. Pudelek.pl's article carries a byline from Kamil Kozłowski.
Neither Polsat nor the "Taniec z Gwiazdami" production has publicly responded to Kaczorowska's comments in the material reviewed. Whether the broadcaster addresses them — and whether the jury casting she describes becomes part of the public record — is the next thing to watch.
