FAMINE OVER. LOOK! YOUR AFTER HAS COME.

Based on 2 Kings 8:3-6

Opening Prayer

Father, we thank You for Your Word that is alive and powerful! We declare that every famine in our lives is over, and our AFTER has come! In the Name of Jesus, we receive the restoration of everything the enemy stole. Open our eyes to see the new season You have prepared for us. Glory to God!

Introduction

Beloved, I want you to lift your hands and say this with me: 'My famine is over! My after has come!' Hallelujah! The Word of God is not just a history book; it is a living, breathing revelation of what God is doing in your life right now. In 2 Kings 8, we find a story that is not just about a woman from Shunem—it is about YOU! It is about every child of God who has experienced a season of lack, loss, or delay. The famine is over, and God is bringing you into your AFTER.

Look at 2 Kings 8:3. The Bible says, 'And it came to pass at the end of seven years, that the woman returned from the land of the Philistines: and she went forth to cry unto the king for her house and for her land.' Notice the phrase 'at the end of seven years.' Seven is the number of completion, of perfection, of divine fullness. God does not leave you in famine forever. He has set a limit on your season of struggle. The famine was temporary, but your AFTER is eternal!

Today, I am not just preaching a sermon; I am releasing a prophetic shift. The Spirit of the Lord is saying, 'Look up! Your redemption draws near. The King is on the throne, and He is ready to restore everything you lost. The famine is over, and your AFTER has come.' Are you ready to receive it? Say 'Yes, Lord!'

Point 1: THE FAMINE IS TEMPORARY, BUT YOUR AFTER IS ETERNAL

📖 2 Kings 8:3a — "And it came to pass at the end of seven years, that the woman returned from the land of the Philistines..."

Verse Breakdown:

v3a — "And it came to pass at the end of seven years..."
This phrase reveals God's divine timeline. The number seven in Scripture represents completion and perfection. God had already determined the duration of the famine. He has already set the length of your trial. It will not last forever!

v3b — "...that the woman returned from the land of the Philistines..."
The Philistines represent the world system, the place of exile, the land of the enemy. But the woman did not stay there. She RETURNED. That is a word of restoration. God is calling you back from the land of the enemy to the land of your inheritance.

Beloved, I want you to understand this: the famine you are facing right now is not your final destination. It is a season, not a sentence. The Word says in Ecclesiastes 3:1, 'To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.' The famine has a beginning, and it has an end. You are not stuck in this place forever. God has already written the end of your story, and it is a story of restoration, not loss. In the Name of Jesus, I declare that the clock of your famine has run out!

Look at this woman. She was a wealthy Shunammite woman who had been blessed by God through the prophet Elisha. She had a son, she had land, she had provision. But then the famine came. It did not come because she sinned; it came because the whole land was under judgment. Sometimes, famines come not because of what you did, but because of the season you are in. But here is the good news: God is sovereign over the famine. He controls the wind and the waves. He controls the economy, the seasons, and the times. And He says, 'I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten' (Joel 2:25).

I want you to imagine this scene. For seven years, this woman lived in exile. She left her house, her land, her inheritance. She went to the land of the Philistines—a place of idolatry, a place of the enemy. But she did not lose her identity. She did not lose her faith. She knew that the famine was temporary. She knew that one day, she would return. And that is what you must hold onto: the knowledge that your famine is not forever. Your AFTER is coming!

Now, some of you have been in a famine of finances. You have been in a famine of health. You have been in a famine of relationships. But I hear the Spirit of the Lord saying, 'The end of the seven years is here!' The number seven is being fulfilled in your life. God is completing the cycle of lack. He is bringing you into a new season of abundance. Receive it now! In the Name of Jesus, I command every spirit of poverty, every spirit of delay, every spirit of loss to bow to the King of Kings! Your famine is over!

But listen, the woman did not just wait passively. She RETURNED. She made a decision to leave the land of the Philistines. You must make a decision to leave the land of your famine. Stop talking like a victim. Stop acting like a beggar. Start declaring that your AFTER has come! The Word says, 'Death and life are in the power of the tongue' (Proverbs 18:21). What are you speaking over your situation? Are you speaking famine or are you speaking abundance? I decree that from today, your tongue will declare the end of famine and the beginning of your AFTER!

🔥 Declaration: 🔥 I DECLARE that my famine is temporary, but my AFTER is eternal! I am not stuck in this season; I am moving into my divine destiny. Every cycle of lack is broken in the Name of Jesus! My seven years are up, and my restoration has begun! Glory to God!

Point 2: YOUR CRY ACTIVATES THE KING’S RESPONSE

📖 2 Kings 8:3b-4 — "...and she went forth to cry unto the king for her house and for her land. And the king talked with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha hath done."

Verse Breakdown:

v3b — "...and she went forth to cry unto the king for her house and for her land."
The woman did not just sit back and hope. She took action. She cried out to the king. This is a picture of prayer, of intercession, of making your request known to the authority. The King of Kings is waiting for you to cry out to Him!

v4 — "And the king talked with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha hath done."
At the exact moment the woman approached the king, the king was speaking with Gehazi about Elisha's miracles. This is divine timing! God was orchestrating the circumstances so that the king would be predisposed to help her. Your cry aligns you with God's perfect timing.

Beloved, I want you to see the power of your cry. The woman did not come to the king with a whimper. She came with a cry. She came with desperation. She came with faith. The Word says, 'She went forth to cry unto the king.' That word 'cry' in Hebrew is 'za'aq,' which means to shriek, to call out loudly, to summon help. This is not a passive whisper; this is an aggressive, faith-filled declaration! You must cry out to the King of Kings with the same intensity. Do not be polite about your restoration. Do not be quiet about your breakthrough. Cry out! Shout! Declare! The King hears the cry of His children!

Now, look at the timing. The Bible says that as she was approaching the king, the king was talking with Gehazi. And what were they talking about? They were talking about 'all the great things that Elisha hath done.' This is not a coincidence—this is divine synchronization! While the woman was crying out, God was already working behind the scenes. He was preparing the king's heart. He was making a way where there seemed to be no way. That is what God does for you! Before you even ask, He is already answering. Before you even cry, He is already working.

I want you to think about this: the king was asking Gehazi about Elisha's miracles. And Gehazi was telling him about the woman's son being raised from the dead. So when the woman came before the king, he already knew her story. He already knew her miracle. He was already impressed by the power of God working in her life. That is what happens when you have a testimony! Your testimony goes before you. Your miracle speaks for you. The Word says in Revelation 12:11, 'And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.' Your testimony opens doors. Your testimony moves the heart of the King.

But here is the key: you must CRY OUT. You cannot be silent about your need. You cannot be passive about your restoration. Jesus said in Luke 18:1, 'Men ought always to pray, and not to faint.' The widow in the parable of the unjust judge kept crying out until she got justice. That is your model! Cry out until the King responds. Cry out until the restoration comes. Cry out until the famine is over. In the Name of Jesus, I release a spirit of persistent prayer over you! You will not give up. You will not give in. You will cry out until your AFTER manifests!

And notice this: the woman did not cry out for just anything. She cried out for 'her house and for her land.' She knew exactly what she had lost. She knew exactly what she wanted back. Many of you do not know what to ask for. You are praying general prayers: 'Lord, bless me.' But the Bible says in James 4:2, 'Ye have not, because ye ask not.' And when you ask, you must ask specifically. What did the enemy steal from you? Your peace? Your joy? Your finances? Your health? Your marriage? Cry out for it specifically! The King is waiting to restore it to you!

🔥 Declaration: 🔥 I DECLARE that my cry has reached the throne of grace! The King of Kings has heard my voice, and He is responding with power and restoration. I am not silent; I am a warrior of prayer. My testimony goes before me, and every door is opening for my AFTER to come! In the Name of Jesus!

Point 3: THE KING RESTORES EVERYTHING—YOUR HOUSE AND YOUR LAND

📖 2 Kings 8:5-6 — "And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life. And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now."

Verse Breakdown:

v5a — "And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life..."
Gehazi was in the middle of telling the king about the greatest miracle in this woman's life—the resurrection of her son. This was the testimony that prepared the king's heart. Your greatest miracle is your greatest testimony.

v5b — "...that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land."
The word 'behold' is a word of divine interruption. At the exact moment the king heard about the miracle, the woman appeared. This is God's perfect timing! He orchestrates your entrance into your season of restoration.

v6a — "And when the king asked the woman, she told him."
The woman spoke. She gave her testimony. She told the king everything. You must be willing to tell your story. Do not hide your miracle. Share it boldly! Your testimony is a weapon.

v6b — "So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now."
The king did not just give her back what she lost; He gave her back ALL the fruits of the field from the day she left until now. This is double restoration! This is the AFTER that God has for you—not just recovery, but abundance beyond what you lost.

Beloved, this is the climax of the story! The woman cried out, and the king responded. But notice how the king responded. He did not just say, 'Okay, I will give you back your house and land.' No! He appointed an officer and said, 'Restore ALL that was hers, and ALL the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.' This is not just restoration; this is SUPERABUNDANT RESTORATION! This is God's way! He does not just give you back what you lost; He gives you back everything you would have gained if the famine had never happened. He restores the years the locust ate! Glory to God!

I want you to imagine the woman's joy. She left her house and land during the famine. For seven years, she had no income from that land. The land was barren, unproductive, yielding nothing. But when she returned, the famine was over. The land was ready to produce again. And the king commanded that she receive not just the land, but ALL the fruits that had grown on that land from the day she left until now. That means she received seven years' worth of harvest in one moment! That is what I call an AFTER! That is what God is doing for you right now!

Some of you have been in a famine for years. You have lost time, lost opportunities, lost resources. But I hear the Spirit of the Lord saying, 'I am restoring EVERYTHING! I am giving you back the years the locust ate. I am giving you back the harvest you missed. I am giving you back the promotions, the breakthroughs, the blessings that the enemy tried to steal.' Receive it now! In the Name of Jesus, I command the restoration of every lost year, every lost opportunity, every lost resource!

But listen, the king did not just give her the land; he gave her an officer to ensure the restoration happened. That officer represents the authority of God working on your behalf. God is sending angels, sending helpers, sending divine connections to ensure that your restoration is complete. The Word says in Psalm 68:11, 'The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.' God is publishing your restoration! He is sending messengers to bring it to pass!

Now, I want you to think about the woman's son. Gehazi pointed to him and said, 'This is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.' The son was a living testimony of God's power. And that testimony opened the door for the restoration of everything else. What is your testimony? What miracle has God done in your life? That testimony is the key to your next level. Never forget what God has done for you. Never stop talking about it. Your testimony will move the heart of the King. Your testimony will open the door for your AFTER!

So I decree and declare that your AFTER has come! The famine is over! The King has heard your cry! He is restoring everything—your house, your land, your health, your finances, your family, your joy, your peace! And He is giving you back the fruits of the field from the day you left until now. You are not just recovering; you are advancing! You are not just getting back to where you were; you are going beyond where you were! This is your season of superabundant restoration! Receive it by faith!

🔥 Declaration: 🔥 I DECLARE that the King has appointed an officer for my restoration! Everything the enemy stole is being returned with interest! I receive seven years' worth of harvest in one moment! My AFTER is here, and it is greater than my past! I am walking in superabundant restoration! In the Name of Jesus!

Point 4: YOUR AFTER IS A TESTIMONY TO THE NATIONS

📖 2 Kings 8:5 (implied) and Isaiah 61:7 — "For your shame you shall have double, and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them. (Isaiah 61:7)"

Verse Breakdown:

Isaiah 61:7a — "For your shame you shall have double..."
God promises to replace your shame with double honor. The enemy tried to shame you with the famine, but God is giving you double. Your AFTER is not just restoration; it is double restoration.

Isaiah 61:7b — "...and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion..."
Confusion is replaced with joy. The confusion of the famine is over. You will rejoice in your portion because God has given you an AFTER that is greater than your past.

Isaiah 61:7c — "...therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them."
You will possess the double in your land. The land God has given you—your inheritance—will produce double. And the joy that comes with this restoration is everlasting. It is not temporary; it is eternal.

Beloved, your AFTER is not just for you. It is a testimony to the nations. When the woman received her restoration, it was not a private event. The king, Gehazi, and the officer all witnessed it. Her son was there as a living testimony. The whole land heard about it. Your restoration is a billboard for the glory of God! The world is watching you. They are waiting to see what God will do. And when your AFTER comes, they will know that God is real, that He is faithful, and that He restores!

I want you to look at Isaiah 61:7. The Word says, 'For your shame you shall have double.' The famine brought shame. The loss brought shame. The enemy tried to make you feel like a failure. But God says, 'I am giving you double for your shame.' Double honor. Double blessing. Double restoration. The world will look at you and say, 'How did this happen? How did they recover so quickly?' And you will say, 'The Lord restored me! The famine is over, and my AFTER has come!'

This is the season of double! The Bible says in Zechariah 9:12, 'Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee.' God is rendering double unto you! He is not just giving you back what you lost; He is giving you back double. That means you will have more after the famine than you had before the famine. That is the AFTER that God has prepared for you!

Now, I want you to receive this by faith. Close your eyes. Lift your hands. Say with me: 'Lord, I receive my AFTER! I receive double for my shame! I receive restoration for every loss! I receive the fruits of the field from the day I left until now! My famine is over! My AFTER has come! I am a testimony of Your glory! In the Name of Jesus!' Hallelujah!

Your AFTER is not a dream; it is a reality. It is already done in the spiritual realm. You must walk into it by faith. You must speak it. You must act like it is already yours. The Word says in Mark 11:24, 'Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.' Believe that you have received your AFTER. Believe that the restoration is complete. Believe that the famine is over. And you will see it manifest in your life!

So go forth with confidence. Go forth with boldness. The King has spoken. The officer has been appointed. The restoration is on its way. Your AFTER has come! Glory to God!

🔥 Declaration: 🔥 I DECLARE that my AFTER is a testimony to the nations! I am a walking billboard of God's restoration power! I receive double for my shame! I receive everlasting joy! The world will see my restoration and glorify God! My famine is over, and my AFTER has come! In the Name of Jesus!
