Expressen reports that SVT has settled on who will serve as its Christmas host, or julvärd, for 2026. The Swedish broadcaster's annual pick is the person who leads its Christmas Eve programming, and according to Expressen the choice for this year has now been made. The outlet has also opened a chat for readers to react to the announcement.
The story has drawn attention across Swedish media in the run-up to the reveal. SVT Nyheter has published coverage asking viewers who they were hoping would take the role, while Aftonbladet has reported on the bookmakers' favourites, quoting one contender saying no one radiates more Christmas warmth than they do. Hänt, meanwhile, reported a day ahead of SVT's official word that a man had been singled out for the job.
Expressen's reporting does not identify the chosen host in the material available, and the broadcaster's own confirmation is the point to watch. SVT's formal announcement is expected to put the speculation to rest and set the lineup for its Christmas Eve broadcast.
