TO THE BIBLE – Matthew 9:28
“And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, ‘Do you believe that I am able to do this?’ They said to Him, ‘Yes, Lord.’”
The last day of the month arrived without a final confrontation.
No new message. No public challenge. No dramatic apology. The social undercurrent that had followed Maya and Jordan through nearly four weeks had simply grown quieter, as if the pressure itself had run out of new angles. Tyler passed them once in the hallway and looked away. The watching eyes of the wider class had mostly moved on to other things.
At lunch they sat at their usual table. For the first time in a long while, the silence between them felt settled rather than tense.
Jordan spoke first.
“I keep waiting for the last big moment,” he admitted. “Something that proves everything we practised this month actually stuck. But it’s just… ordinary. And part of me still wants a sign that we really changed anything.”
Maya understood the feeling. The entire month had been built in layers—love, words, the Name of Jesus, knowing the Father, focus, the Word as manual, the body as temple, the leap of faith, spiritual maturity, gratitude, daily filling, the true Light, wisdom, the Kingdom, active faith, freedom used for service, God arising, resting in love, filtering the heart, specialising in the Word, taking their place as mature sons, recognising special abilities, choosing to give, speaking the language of the Kingdom, and putting on the whole armour. All of it had prepared them for this quieter test.
“That’s the final choice,” she said. “Believing isn’t something God does for us. It’s something we decide. The man who brought his son to Jesus tried to put the responsibility back on Him—‘Help my unbelief.’ But Jesus made it clear: if you can believe, all things are possible. You believe with your heart. It’s a choice. God is looking for people who will stake themselves on His Word without needing the atmosphere to confirm it first.”
Jordan looked across the cafeteria one more time. The old tension no longer dominated the space. It hadn’t vanished in a single dramatic scene. It had simply lost its power to define them.
“So we don’t wait for proof,” he said slowly. “We cast ourselves on the Word. We choose to believe that everything He said this month is already true—about us, about the pressure, about what’s possible next.”
Maya nodded. “Only believe. That’s the whole posture. Abraham believed and received. Moses believed and walked through the sea. God is still looking for people who will do the same. Our dreams, our calling, the next season—everything is possible if we can believe.”
They sat with that for a moment as the lunch period continued around them. No final battle arrived to give them a neat ending. What arrived instead was something stronger: a settled decision to keep believing whether the external story finished cleanly or not.
The month had not been about defeating Tyler.
It had been about becoming people who only believe.
And on the last day of September, that choice was enough.
