ENDUED WITH POWER

(Dominate Your World)

Saturday, 3 October

TO THE BIBLE Isaiah 11:2

“The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.”

The project was due at noon.

Kemi stood near the submission desk with her folder, aware of the glances still coming from a few people in the hallway. The leaked draft had not been forgotten. A couple of whispered comments floated past as she waited her turn. Nothing loud enough to confront. Just enough to test whether she would shrink.

Tobi had walked with her part of the way and was now leaning against the wall a few metres away, watching.

“You don’t have to look so calm,” he muttered when she glanced over. “They’re still talking. You can feel it.”

Kemi adjusted the folder in her hands. The night before she had finished the work cleanly, without the panic the group chat had tried to create. The headache from the day before had not returned. But the social pressure was still present, and for a moment the old instinct to keep her head down tried to rise.

Then the verse from that morning settled in her spirit. The Spirit of the Lord—the Spirit of dominion. The same Spirit that rested on the prophets and gave them boldness to declare God’s Word without fear. Timidity was not her portion. She had been endued with power.

She turned slightly toward Tobi.

“I’m not here to blend in or wait for the atmosphere to become friendly,” she said quietly. “The Spirit of the Lord is on me. That means boldness. That means I’m not intimidated by pressure from friends or side comments. I go with the Spirit of dominion.”

Tobi raised an eyebrow. “You’re going to walk in there talking like that?”

“I’m going to walk in there knowing who is with me,” Kemi answered. “I’m not ordinary. I’m not trying to show off. I’m just refusing to let fear set the tone. This is the time to take charge of the circumstances of my life not later, when everything feels safer.”

When her name was called, she stepped forward and submitted the project without rushing or apologising for existing. A few eyes followed her. She did not look away. She did not explain herself. She simply completed what she came to do and walked back out.

In the corridor Tobi fell into step beside her.

“You didn’t even flinch.”

“I felt it,” Kemi admitted. “But feeling pressure and submitting to it are two different things. The Spirit of the Lord produces boldness in me. I’m learning to walk in it on purpose especially when my peers are uncertain or when the atmosphere tries to make me small.”

They headed toward the exit. The comments had not all disappeared. The social undercurrent was still there. But something had shifted in the way Kemi carried herself through it.

She was not waiting for the environment to change first.

She was dominating it with the power she already carried.
