ENDUED WITH SPECIAL ABILITIES
(Don’t Compare Yourself With Someone Else)

TO THE BIBLE – Ephesians 4:7
“But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.”
Saturday morning felt quieter than usual, but the quiet carried its own pressure.
Jordan sat on the library steps scrolling through a few class stories. In one of them, a classmate was being praised for a sharp presentation from the day before. In another, someone else was getting attention for a leadership role in an upcoming school event. Nothing was directed at him, yet the familiar comparison still tried to rise.
When Maya arrived, he locked the phone and set it face-down.
“I’ve been watching other people move,” he said. “The ones who always seem to have the right words, the right presence, the easy confidence. After everything we’ve been learning—maturity, carrying the Kingdom, specialising in the Word—I still catch myself thinking I’m just… ordinary next to them. Like whatever I have is smaller.”
Maya sat beside him. The residual awareness of Tyler’s circle still existed somewhere in the background of school life, but today the sharper struggle was internal.
“That’s the comparison trap,” she said. “The Bible says to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. The Living Bible calls them special abilities—from His rich storehouse. No one is missing them. Not you. Not me. They came with the new birth and with the Holy Spirit. Ability, efficiency, might. The problem isn’t lack. It’s recognition.”
Jordan frowned slightly. “So I’m not supposed to notice when someone else seems further ahead?”
“You’re not supposed to use their story as the measuring stick for yours,” Maya answered. “God doesn’t have a duplicate of you. No one else can express what He put in you the exact way you can. When you keep comparing, you shrink what is already there. When you agree with the Word instead, you start putting the abilities to work on purpose.”
She looked out across the empty courtyard. “We’ve spent this whole month learning how to stand, speak, filter, grow, and carry something real. None of that was preparation for becoming a copy of someone else. It was preparation for becoming the full version of who we already are in Him.”
Jordan was quiet for a while. The usual Saturday stillness of the campus settled around them. Somewhere in the distance a few students laughed as they crossed the far path. The old social undercurrent remained unfinished, but it no longer felt like the main measure of anything.
Finally he said, “Okay. Then I stop treating myself like another face in the crowd. God gave me special abilities. I recognise them. I put them to work. And I stop measuring them against anyone else’s.”
Maya nodded. “That’s the shift. Be the best of you. Not a lesser version of someone else. The Kingdom needs what only you can release.”
They sat a little longer as the morning light moved across the steps. No new confrontation appeared. No sudden resolution with Tyler materialised. Yet something important had been settled again:
They were not ordinary.
They were not behind.
They were endued—and it was time to stop comparing and start expressing.
