"THE LIFELONG LEARNER (Remain A Student Of The Word)"

Saturday morning felt like a pause after a fast stretch of days.

The first city conversation was almost here. Elena’s new school responsibility had been accepted. Caleb was finding his feet. On the surface everything looked forward-moving. Yet when the group met at the park, a quieter problem surfaced.

Jordan admitted he had been so focused on the next event that his personal time in the Word had become rushed and thin. Sofia said she kept rereading familiar verses but wasn’t sure she was actually learning anything new. Avery confessed that most of her recent “Bible time” had been scrolling quick devotionals on her phone without real engagement. Even Elena realised she had been leaning more on past insight than fresh study.

They had been living from what they already knew. The question was whether they were still true students.

Sofia opened the TeeVo.

THE LIFELONG LEARNER (Remain A Student Of The Word)

Key Nuggets from Pastor Chris:

- God expects you to be a student of His Word the same way a student shows up for class, studies, and stays focused.

- Success in life is not measured by degrees but by the amount of God’s Word you know and put to work.

- Some Christians remain in spiritual childishness for years because they stop growing in the Word.

- You can read the Bible like a newspaper and gain nothing. The Holy Spirit must be involved for real impact.

- The Bible is revelation, not just stories. Remain a lifelong learner—keep studying, keep discovering, keep growing.

- Make time daily. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).

The words landed with quiet conviction. Visibility, opportunity, and even spiritual experiences were not substitutes for remaining students of the Word. If they stopped learning, they would eventually start operating on leftovers.

Elena spoke first. “We’ve been busy doing things for God. But the TeeVo is asking whether we’re still actually learning from Him.”

They decided to put the Act into practice together. Each person chose one short passage, spent ten focused minutes with it, wrote down one key lesson, and then spoke that lesson aloud as truth for their own life. No rushing. No multitasking. Just deliberate study with the awareness that the Holy Spirit was involved.

The exercise was simple, but it exposed how easy it had become to live off momentum instead of fresh revelation. By the time they finished, the atmosphere among them felt clearer and hungrier. They were no longer only leaders and speakers for the moment. They were students again.

That afternoon Elena went home and blocked a longer stretch of time with her Bible—not to prepare a message, but simply to learn. The more she read, the more she realised how much she still did not know. Instead of discouraging her, the realisation made her glad. There was more. And she wanted it.

TO BE CONTINUED...

_Tomorrow in Episode 23 (Sunday): The next theme from the August TeeVo will continue the journey as the group carries what they are learning into the first city conversation and the expanding responsibilities ahead._

TODAY’S TEEVO TRUTH (Key Nuggets by Pastor Chris):

- Remain a lifelong student of the Word. Growth does not happen automatically.

- Success is tied to how much of God’s Word you know and practise.

- Do not read the Bible casually; involve the Holy Spirit and seek revelation.

- Diligence in the Word keeps you approved and effective.

ACTION STEP: Spend at least 10 focused minutes today on one Bible passage. Write down one key lesson and declare it out loud as God’s truth for your life. Stay a student.

SUSPENSE ALERT: The first city conversation arrives tomorrow. A larger and more diverse group of teens will be present—including a few who already hold strong opinions about faith. At the same time, Elena receives a private message from someone in the school network questioning whether she is “qualified” for the new responsibility she has accepted.

Find out tomorrow!

Keep living out your TeeVo—remain a lifelong learner and stay a true student of the Word!
