TOO LATE TO BE POOR
(Walk In Prosperity... It’s Your Birthright)*
Tuesday, 20 October
TO THE BIBLE: 3 John 1:2
“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”
The competition preparation was steady, and the short Gospel conversation from the day before still lingered in Kemi’s mind. Yet Tuesday morning brought a quieter kind of pressure one that tried to attach itself to practical needs.
A few students were talking about registration fees for the next stage of the competition, transport costs, and materials some of them still needed. The conversation drifted into the familiar tone of limitation: “People like us don’t always have what it takes.” “Some things are just not for everyone.”
Kemi felt the old mindset try to rise for a moment. Then she shut it down.
At lunch Tobi noticed the firmness in her expression.
“You’re rejecting something,” he said.

“I’m rejecting poverty thinking,” Kemi answered. “The moment I was born again, it became too late for me to be poor. I was born into prosperity. Jesus became poor so that through His poverty I might become rich. That is not only about money. It’s the totality of my well-being spirit, soul, and body. It’s the blessing of God on my life in such a way that everything concerning me succeeds exceedingly, and I can impart the same life to others.”
She leaned forward slightly.
“I’m not supposed to agree with ‘I can’t’ or ‘I’ll never’ or ‘people like me don’t succeed.’ Those thoughts are illegal in my life. I have a limitless and inexhaustible inheritance in Christ. The Lord has already declared that whatsoever I do shall prosper. That has to be my mindset.”
Tobi raised an eyebrow. “Even with the practical costs and the pressure around the competition?”
“Especially then,” Kemi said. “Prosperity is my birthright. I’m not waiting to feel rich before I walk in it. I’m refusing every poverty mentality right now.”
She spoke quietly but clearly:
“I was born into prosperity. It’s too late for me to be poor. I’m blessed in the city and blessed in the field. Everything I do prospers.”

Later that afternoon, as she continued her preparation, the atmosphere around the work remained steady. A small practical need that had been hanging unresolved found an unexpected solution through a classmate’s offer of shared materials. It was not dramatic, but it was consistent with the truth she had chosen to stand on.
On the way home Tobi glanced at her.
“You’re not just studying for a win. You’re living like someone who already has supply.”
Kemi nodded. “Because I do. Prosperity is not a future reward. It’s my present reality in Christ. And it’s too late for me to live below it.”
The competition still required diligence. The days still held practical demands. But the verdict over lack had already been settled.
She was born to prosper.
And she was walking in it.
