FAITH IS A VERB
(Act Like You’ve Already Received)

TO THE BIBLE – Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Saturday morning felt like a pause that had lasted too long.
The Kingdom declarations from the day before still sat in Maya’s spirit, yet the practical atmosphere around Tyler had not visibly changed. No new conflict. No clear resolution. Just the same unfinished silence that had stretched across nearly three weeks.
Jordan met her at the library steps, hands in his pockets.
“We’ve prayed about it,” he said. “We’ve spoken the Word over it. We’ve carried the Kingdom into the hallway. But nothing looks different yet. Part of me wants to keep asking God to handle it… again.”
Maya recognised the pull. It was the quiet temptation to stay in request mode instead of possession mode.
“That’s the exact place faith has to become a verb,” she said. “Faith isn’t only believing something is possible. It’s treating what God has said as present-hour reality. If we’ve already received authority, peace, and clarity over this situation, then we stop waiting for the atmosphere to prove it first. We act like it’s already ours.”
Jordan frowned slightly. “Act how? Tyler hasn’t said anything. The rest of the class is still watching in that half-interested way. What does ‘acting like we’ve received’ even look like right now?”
“It looks like refusing to keep circling the same request,” Maya answered. “It looks like walking into Monday without bracing for impact. It looks like preparing for normal, free interaction instead of rehearsing defence. The man at the Beautiful Gate didn’t test his legs first. He jumped because he believed the word spoken over him was already working. Faith takes possession and then moves.”
She paused, then added, “We’ve done the speaking. Now we do the corresponding action. Otherwise it stays unfinished on our side too.”
Jordan stood quietly for a long moment, looking out across the mostly empty campus. The tension that had defined so many of their recent conversations was still present—but for the first time it felt like something they were standing above rather than under.
“Okay,” he said at last. “Then I’m done asking about this as if we don’t already have what we need. On Monday I stop walking in like the problem still owns the space. I’ll act like the peace we spoke is already in place.”
Maya nodded. “That’s the shift. Faith that stays only in words eventually stalls. Faith that acts becomes the evidence.”
They stayed on the steps a little longer as the morning light moved across the courtyard. No dramatic message arrived on either phone. No sudden apology materialised. The situation with Tyler remained, on the surface, unresolved.
Yet something essential had changed in their posture toward it.
They had stopped waiting to see before they moved.
They had decided to move because they had already received.
And that made all the difference.
