"LITTLE FAITH CAN GROW (No Amount Of Faith Is Insignificant)"
The new student showed up at the lunchtime discussion with quiet intensity.
His name was Caleb. He sat at the edge of the group, listened more than he spoke, and at the end asked if he could stay behind. When the others had gone, he told Elena, Jordan, Sofia, Malik, and Avery a fragmented version of his story—family pressure, a sense of never measuring up, and a private fear that he didn’t have “enough faith” to live the kind of life they seemed to be living.
“I believe in God,” he said, “but I don’t think my faith is like yours. Mine feels small. Sometimes it feels like it barely exists.”
The words landed in a way that exposed something the group had not fully admitted. Even among themselves, quiet comparisons had begun to form. Who prayed with more boldness? Who seemed to get clearer direction? Who handled pressure more easily? The idea that some people simply had “more faith” had been sitting unexamined.
Elena opened the TeeVo.
LITTLE FAITH CAN GROW (No Amount Of Faith Is Insignificant)
Key Nuggets from Pastor Chris:
- God has dealt to every believer the measure of faith (Romans 12:3)—not “a” measure, but the same measure.
- When you were born again, you received the faith you need. It came as a seed in your spirit.
- No amount of faith is insignificant. What matters is that you use it and grow it.
- Faith increases by hearing the Word (Romans 10:17) and is strengthened by acting on the Word.
- You do not need to wait for a larger faith before you begin. Use the faith you already have.
The group sat with the truth for a moment. Caleb’s honesty had forced them to look at their own assumptions. They had been treating faith as something some people possessed in greater quantity, rather than a seed that grows through use.
“We’ve been measuring faith by feelings and visible results,” Sofia said slowly. “But the Word says we all received the same measure. The difference is whether we use it.”
They turned the conversation practical. Instead of trying to convince Caleb that he needed more faith, they encouraged him to use the faith he already carried—in small, specific ways. Pray about one clear thing. Then take one action that matches the belief that God has heard and answered.
Elena applied the same challenge to the group. The city commitment still had one practical piece outstanding. The temptation was to wait until they “felt stronger” or until every detail looked certain. The TeeVo confronted that delay. Little faith, used, grows. Unused faith stays small.
That afternoon each of them chose one simple act of faith. Caleb prayed specifically about peace in a difficult conversation at home and then sent a calm, respectful message he had been avoiding. The others did the same in their own areas—speaking to a need, taking a step, refusing to wait for a more impressive feeling of faith before obeying.
By the end of the day the atmosphere among them had shifted. Faith was no longer a comparison. It was a seed they were all responsible to water and use. And for the first time, Caleb looked like someone who had been given something real rather than someone permanently behind.
