SPEAK FROM THE WORD

(The Basis Of Our Confession Is The Word)

Saturday, 17 October

TO THE BIBLE:2 Corinthians 4:13

“And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, ‘I believed and therefore I spoke,’ we also believe and therefore speak.”

The preparation for the competition was progressing, but Saturday morning brought a familiar test.

Kemi woke up feeling the weight of the remaining material. A quiet heaviness tried to settle tiredness mixed with the old pressure to sound strong even when the work still felt unfinished. When Tobi asked how she was doing, the automatic answer almost came out: “I’m fine.”

She stopped herself.

At the table she opened her notebook and looked at him.

Episode 17

“I’ve been thinking about the difference between empty words and real confession,” she said. “Saying ‘I’m fine, I’m fine’ when everything feels heavy doesn’t change anything. Faith isn’t just repeating positive sentences. The Bible says, ‘I believed, and therefore I spoke.’ Believing comes first. The basis of what I say has to be the Word what Christ has already done.”

Tobi sat down across from her. “So what do you actually say when it still feels hard?”

“I speak from the finished work,” Kemi answered. “If I refuse to be limited by this material, it’s because nothing is impossible to the one who believes. If I say I’m excellent, it’s because the life of God in me is stronger than tiredness or pressure. If I declare success, it’s because Christ has already made me rich in every way that matters wisdom, favour, ability. My confession is not wishful thinking. It’s agreement with what is already true in Him.”

She turned to a verse she had marked earlier and read it quietly, then spoke it out with clarity:

“I believe, therefore I speak. The greater One lives in me. I have the wisdom and strength I need. I refuse every limitation. I am making progress. I am succeeding in this, in the Name of Jesus.”

It was not loud. It was not dramatic. It was anchored.

Later that afternoon, as she returned to the two weaker sections, the atmosphere around the work felt different. She was no longer trying to talk herself into courage. She was releasing what she already believed from the Word.

On the way out of the room Tobi glanced at her notes.

“You’re not just studying anymore. You’re speaking the outcome while you work.”

Kemi nodded. “That’s the point. Our faith in who we are in Christ is the foundation. When I speak from the Word, I’m not creating something from nothing I’m activating what Christ already made mine. Health. Strength. Success. Victory. The confession has a basis. And that basis is the Word.”

The competition still required diligence. The pages still needed to be covered. But the words in her mouth were no longer empty.

They were coming from the Word.

And the Word was the solid ground under every declaration.
