TO THE BIBLE: Mark 9:23
“Jesus said to him, ‘If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.’”
The preliminary list for the competition was released that morning.
Kemi scanned it once, then again more slowly. The standard was higher than she expected. Two of the practice sections covered areas she had barely touched. A few students around her already looked defeated. One muttered, “There’s no way. This is impossible for most of us.”
For a moment the weight of it tried to settle on her too.
At lunch Tobi found her sitting with the list still open on the table.
“You’re quiet,” he said. “Bad list?”
“It’s heavier than I thought,” Kemi admitted. “Part of me already started calculating how far behind I am. The old voice that says some things are just too late to fix.”
She closed the paper and looked up.
“But that’s the exact thinking I’m not allowed to keep. There are no hopeless situations with me. Not in Christ. When something looks impossible from the outside, that’s not the end of the story it’s the opportunity. Jesus said if you can believe, all things are possible to the one who believes. The greater One lives in me. I was born to reign, not to panic when the challenge gets real.”
Tobi raised an eyebrow. “So you’re excited about a list that looks too hard?”
“I’m choosing to be,” Kemi said. “Every time someone says ‘you can’t’ or ‘you’ll never make it,’ that’s my cue to put faith to work. I don’t speak fear over it. I speak life. I declare the Word. The ability to turn situations around came into me when I received the Holy Spirit. This isn’t a dead end. It’s a platform.”
She placed her hand lightly on the list and spoke quietly but clearly:
“This is my opportunity to prove the Word of God. Greater is He that is in me. I speak change to this situation. I can do all things through Christ. Nothing is impossible to me.”
The paper itself didn’t change. The content of the preliminary round remained the same. But something in her posture shifted. The heaviness lost its grip.
Later that afternoon she reopened her notes and began mapping the two weak areas with fresh focus not as proof that she was behind, but as the exact places where the turnaround would show.
On the way home Tobi glanced at her.
“You’re treating the hard part like it’s useful.”
Kemi nodded. “Because it is. Hopeless situations don’t exist for me. They’re opportunities—to demonstrate faith, to manifest the glory of God, and to show that the power in me is real. I’m not backing down from this one.”
The competition still stood ahead. The material still required work. But the verdict over it had already changed.
There was no hopeless situation here.
Only another chance to win.

Look at the most challenging situation you’re facing right now. Instead of being discouraged, get excited! Say: “This is my opportunity to prove the Word of God. Greater is He that is in me! I speak change to this situation, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
