YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER IS BIG

Dream Big)

Tuesday, 13 October

TO THE BIBLE: Genesis 37:5

“Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more.”

The competition preparation was underway, but Tuesday afternoon stretched further than the next deadline.

Kemi sat on the back steps with a blank page in front of her. For days she had been focused on the next step the reading list, the practice questions, the upward commitment. All of that was necessary. Yet something in her spirit kept pushing past the immediate goal into a wider horizon.

Tobi dropped down beside her and glanced at the empty page.

“You’re stuck?”

“You’re stuck?”

“No,” Kemi said slowly. “I’m trying not to shrink it. We’ve been learning to refuse limits, to take hold of grace, to keep moving forward. But there’s still a quiet habit of dreaming only as far as what looks realistic. Joseph didn’t do that. He was basically a teenager under his father’s roof, talking about leadership and influence that sounded impossible. His brothers hated him for it. He kept dreaming anyway.”

She tapped the page.

“There are no laws against dreaming big. My dream is supposed to be large enough for God to get involved with it. Not safe. Not manageable. Big about my academics, my influence, the kind of impact I’m supposed to carry. My Heavenly Father is big. His resources are limitless. He’s more willing and enthusiastic about my success than I am.”

Tobi raised an eyebrow. “So you’re about to write something that sounds unreasonable.”

“I’m about to write something that only God can accomplish,” Kemi answered. “That’s the point. If I can fully explain how it will happen with my current capacity, the dream is still too small.”

She began to write not just the competition, but the wider vision it belonged to. Influence that reached beyond her year. Solutions that outgrew a single classroom. A life that carried the same pattern of increase she had been studying. When she finished, the page looked larger than her present circumstances. That was exactly how it was supposed to look.

She closed the notebook and spoke quietly:

She closed the notebook and spoke quietly:

“I refuse to see myself as small. The God I serve is the limit-breaker. I see my greatness, my increase, and my influence bursting forth on every side.”

Later, as the evening settled, the competition still required focused work. The next steps were still practical. But the container around her thinking had expanded.

She was no longer only preparing for a contest.

She was learning to dream at the scale of her Father.

And her Father was big.
