"YOUR SUPERNATURAL POWER SOURCE (Practise Speaking in Other Tongues)"
The message came mid-morning.
Forum Update: The speaking slot had been shortened and moved earlier in the program. Instead of a prepared ten-minute message, each selected group would now have only five minutes and would face two live questions from the student moderators afterward. No notes allowed for the Q&A.
At the same time, Avery pulled Elena aside between classes, her face tight.
“Someone from my old group cornered me this morning,” she said quietly. “They told me if I stand with you on that stage, I can forget about any future invitations from them. They made it sound like I’d be choosing sides permanently.”
Elena felt the pressure settle on both of them. The platform was still open, but the conditions had tightened and the personal cost for Avery had just gone up.
By lunch the four original friends plus Avery sat together, the atmosphere heavier than usual. Ideas that had felt strong the day before now seemed fragile. Jordan admitted he felt nervous about the live questions. Sofia kept checking the time. The assignment that had been exciting was starting to feel draining.
Elena opened the TeeVo.

They bowed their heads and began to pray in other tongues, quietly but deliberately. Elena set a timer in her spirit for a focused stretch. At first it felt awkward. Then the atmosphere among them began to change.
Fear loosened its grip. Clarity returned. Avery, who had been almost ready to back out, found herself praying with them. When they finished, the five of them looked at one another differently—steadier, lighter, more resolved.
“I still don’t have every answer for the Q&A,” Jordan said, “but I don’t feel small anymore.”
That afternoon they practised again in a quiet corner of the library, letting the Spirit charge them rather than trying to manufacture boldness through more rehearsing. By the time school ended, the shortened slot and the live questions no longer felt like threats. They felt like opportunities the Spirit could handle through them.
Walking out of the building, Elena realised something simple and powerful: the power had been in them the whole time. They had only needed to activate it.
