DIVINE ENCOUNTERS ARE REAL
(God Desires To Visit You)
Monday, 12 October
TO THE BIBLE: Hebrews 13:2
“Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.”
Monday started ordinarily enough.
Kemi had already begun the extra preparation she committed to the day before. The competition material was open on her desk before school, and she carried the same focused posture into the hallway. The residual social noise from earlier in the month had almost completely faded. What remained was a quieter sense of expectation something she couldn’t fully name.
At break a new student she didn’t recognise stood near the resource shelf, looking uncertain about where to find a particular text. Most people walked past. Kemi almost did the same. Then the morning’s truth surfaced.
Divine encounters were real. Abraham had entertained strangers and discovered one of them was the Lord. Jacob’s destiny shifted in a single night of wrestling. These visitations were not locked in the Old Testament. God still desired to visit His people sometimes through angels, sometimes in ways that looked ordinary until they weren’t.

She walked over and helped the student locate the book. The exchange was brief. A simple thank you. Nothing dramatic. Yet as she turned away, a quiet awareness settled in her spirit an alertness she hadn’t carried earlier in the day.
At lunch Tobi noticed the shift.
“You’re quieter than usual,” he said. “But not the stressed kind.”
“I’m paying attention,” Kemi answered. “We’ve been learning to speak, to take hold of grace, to refuse limits, to keep moving forward. But there’s another layer. God still visits. He can show up in a room, on the way home, at school even in a moment that looks completely normal. Abraham almost missed it. Jacob didn’t recognise who he was wrestling at first. I don’t want to be spiritually asleep when something important is happening.”
Tobi raised an eyebrow. “So you’re expecting an angel in the cafeteria?”
“I’m staying open,” Kemi said. “Sensitive. The Bible says some have entertained angels without knowing it. That means the posture matters kindness, readiness, a heart that isn’t closed off. A real encounter with the Lord changes everything. I’m not chasing an experience. I’m making room for one.”
The rest of the day passed without a public sign or sudden vision. Yet the alertness remained. On the way home Kemi found herself praying differently not only declaring what she already knew, but welcoming whatever God wanted to do next.
Tobi walked beside her in comfortable silence for a while before speaking.
“You’re treating today like it could matter more than it looks.”
Kemi nodded. “Because it might. Divine encounters are real. God desires to visit. And I don’t want to be the one who walks past the moment without recognising it.”
The competition still ahead. The upward path still requiring focus. But something else had been added to her posture:
Expectancy.
Readiness.
Room for God to show up.
