Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little have announced they are stepping away from their Hit Network Drive show, according to the Herald Sun. The pair confirmed the departure on Wednesday, ending a partnership on the air that has run for almost ten years.

Bickmore described the split as not the ending she had hoped for, the Herald Sun reports. Little's own comment, carried in coverage of the announcement, was that he had enjoyed every part of the run. Radio Today and Nine.com.au both reported the confirmation of the duo's exit from the Drive slot.

The two broadcasters have fronted the drive program together for close to a decade, a stretch that made them one of the more recognisable pairings in Australian radio. Coverage of the news appeared across several outlets owned by or linked to the same media group, including The Age and Adelaide Now, all carrying the same announcement.

Neither broadcaster has given a detailed reason for the decision in the reporting available, and no replacement host has been named.

What to watch next: whether the Hit Network names a successor for the Drive slot, and where Bickmore and Little surface next.
