ASML has raised its expectations for the year after a strong third quarter, De Telegraaf reports, crediting the upgrade to rising investment in artificial intelligence. The Dutch semiconductor equipment maker said growth is expected to continue, according to NOS.
Demand for ASML's machines is now running ahead of the company's ability to supply them. NU reports that the equipment is so sought after that ASML cannot currently meet all orders. Omroep Brabant reports that some customers are already looking to place orders for delivery as far out as 2030.
The results lifted Dutch market sentiment. De Telegraaf reported that ASML and fellow chip equipment maker ASMI pushed the AEX index to a record high, with CTP also posting sharp gains.
ASML builds the lithography systems used to manufacture advanced semiconductors, which places it near the center of the spending wave tied to AI infrastructure. The company's order book is being shaped less by near-term delivery schedules than by how far ahead customers are willing to commit, a signal of how confident buyers are in long-term chip demand.
The guidance upgrade and the reported supply constraint point to a market where ASML's main limitation is production capacity rather than customer interest. That distinction matters for how the company's results develop over the coming quarters.
Watch whether ASML can expand output to match incoming orders, and whether the record run in Dutch chip stocks holds when the company next reports.
