Apple is expected to introduce a new smart home product called HomeView at an event titled "Welcome Home" on Tuesday, October 13, according to reporting from Macworld.se. The hub is said to reach stores in mid-November, following the arrival of a new Apple TV 4K and a new HomePod Mini on October 30.

The details come from Mark Gurman's Power On newsletter, which Macworld.se cites as the source for the launch timing and hardware specifics. Macworld.se reports that HomeView is positioned as the Siri hub of an Apple-run home, built around a screen and an A18 chip.

Why it matters

Apple has sold smart speakers for years, but a dedicated display would give the company a fixed point in the home where Siri can be seen as well as heard. That is a different role from the one played by a phone or a watch, both of which travel with the user.

Macworld.se frames HomeView as the center of an Apple-driven household, which suggests the company wants a persistent device rather than a portable one. The product would also arrive alongside refreshed versions of two existing home devices, signaling a broader push rather than a single experiment.

The name itself points in that direction. According to Macworld.se, "View" refers to the fact that the device is a screen the user looks at and controls by voice.

Two versions, different finishes

Macworld.se reports that HomeView will come in two configurations.

The tabletop model sits on a speaker base made of metal, and it will be offered in space gray, silver, starlight, and pink. The wall-mounted version has a flat, square base and will be available only in space gray and silver.

Audio quality is expected to improve over the new HomePod Mini, according to Gurman's newsletter as cited by Macworld.se. That claim places the hub above Apple's smaller speaker, though no measurements or comparisons were provided.

Voice first, with a touchscreen

Control of HomeView is primarily by voice, but the screen is touch-sensitive, Macworld.se reports. The combination suggests Apple intends the display for glanceable information and occasional taps rather than as a tablet.

One limitation concerns language. Siri AI currently supports only English, and no date has been set for Swedish, according to Macworld.se. The outlet notes it is unclear whether that restriction extends to HomeView as well.

The software environment is also narrow. Macworld.se reports that the hub will carry a limited selection of Apple's own apps and will not have its own App Store. No price has been announced.

Where the name came from

The HomeView name first surfaced in a trademark application filed by a shell company, a detail Macworld.se credits MacRumors with spotting on Friday. Macworld.se has also published a roundup collecting what is known about Apple's home hub so far.

The event itself lands on October 13, with the new Apple TV 4K and HomePod Mini reaching stores on October 30 and HomeView following in mid-November, per the newsletter. Pricing, regional availability, and a Swedish-language timeline for Siri AI remain open questions.
