Apple has scheduled a press conference for October 13, the Norwegian tech site ITavisen reports. The company has confirmed the date, though it has not said what the event will cover.
The confirmation arrives alongside a run of unconfirmed reports about Apple's product pipeline. According to Tek.no, Bloomberg has reported that Apple and LG are working together on new smart home devices. ITavisen separately describes the same collaboration as secret and says it could involve a wide range of products.
There is also talk of new hardware beyond the smart home. TechRadar reports a leak indicating that a new iPad mini is in development, and that it is coming even after Apple's rumoured foldable iPhone. None of these reports has been confirmed by Apple.
Investor attention is on the company as well. Traders Union notes that Apple shares have been trading at around 333 dollars, with the market looking for fresh momentum ahead of the October launch.
The event date is the only item here that Apple has officially acknowledged. The LG partnership, the smart home lineup and the iPad mini all remain rumours attributed to the outlets that published them, and the company has not commented on any of them.
What to watch next: Apple's October 13 presentation, where the company may address some of the speculation directly.
