The 2026 China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival opened in Xiamen, in Fujian province, according to 中国新闻网. Actors Huang Xiaoming and Zhao Liying took part in the ceremony's lighting of the Golden Rooster, the outlet reported.
The event hosts the 39th Golden Rooster Awards, and 新浪财经 reports that the winners across the major categories will be revealed on November 10.
Coverage of the opening also reached beyond the ceremony itself. 新浪网 noted that a Golden Rooster installation on Zhongshan Road in the city is lit in purple and pink, giving passersby a festival display of their own. 品玩 reported that vehicles from the AITO lineup, the M9 and the new M8, appeared at the event as part of its program. 凤凰网 also carried coverage of the Xiamen opening.
The festival brings one of China's major film industry gatherings to the coastal city, with the awards ceremony as its centerpiece. Beyond the red carpet, the event draws attention from sponsors and brands, as the vehicle display indicates.
